U12 Peewees is the "learn to train" phase. The players are split into like-skilled practice groups and, despite playing on the full sheet of ice still use small area games to encourage rapid development. Peewees start to explore more team concepts, though still heavily focused on individual skill mastery. The focus for this age group is skating and individual skills training.

U12 Peewees are typically 11-12 year old kids who have a solid skating foundation. While new skaters are rare at this age level, it has happened and is definitely possible. We request that you contact us to discuss the options for your new skater.
U12 Peewees typically start early October and end early March.
U12 Peewees will have 2x on-ice practices per week, along with 1x off-ice dryland practice per week.
Practices are 7:00-8:15 pm on Tuesday, 7:15-8:30 pm on Thursday. Dryland is Mondays, 6:00-8:00 pm.
Games are scheduled most weekends, typically a double-header on either Saturday or Sunday. Games are both home and away, our goal is to limit travel to no more than 1 hour each way. There are typically several optional, but encouraged tournaments.

U12 Peewees will practice and have home games at the Oshkosh 20th Ave YMCA. Away games are typically within a 1 hour radius.
Off-ice dryland is typically held at the Oshkosh Rec Dept gym on Division St in Oshkosh.
U12 Peewees are evaluated and organized into small teams of like-skilled players. These teams are organized after several weeks of thorough evaluations by our coaching staff. These teams will play games at home and away. The goal is for each team to play teams of a similar experience level.
Skaters are required to source their own equipment. Total equipment cost at this age should not exceed $200-$250. Used equipment is highly encouraged at this age.

Similar to U10 Squirts, participation at the U12 Peewee level is limited to certain birth years, typically 11 and 12 year old players.
