The OAYHA provides youth hockey to boys and girls ages 4 -15. Per WAHA requirements, our skaters must reside within the OAYHA boundaries (primarily - Oshkosh, Winneconne, Ripon, Omro, and Berlin) or receive a transfer waiver from their home association. The OAYHA utilizes local ice facilities at the 20th Ave Oshkosh YMCA for practices and home games.
The OAYHA is a member of the Wisconsin Amateur Hockey Association (WAHA), and follows the rules and guidelines of USA Hockey. OAYHA is a non-profit organization, which relies on player fees, sponsor donations and fundraising to meet expenses. OAYHA is run solely by volunteers including: the Board of Directors, committee heads, coaches, team managers and members.
The Oshkosh Area Youth Hockey Association (OAYHA) offers high-quality, age-appropriate programming for youth in and around Oshkosh. OAYHA programming aims to accomplish worthy personal and team goals through individual effort and teamwork. All stakeholders, including the Board of Directors, committee members, coaches, parents, participants, and fans, fulfill the OAYHA’s vision and mission, by adhering to the organization’s core values.

We offer several programs to help kids and families get started in hockey! Try Hockey For Free is an event at the 20th YMCA where hockey equipment is provided by OAYHA to kids new to the sport. Volunteers help kids get "dressed" in their equipment and the new hockey players are given time on the ice to skate, shoot pucks and have fun with the help of coaches, parent volunteers and older hockey players. THFF is a great introduction to our hockey program!

You don't have to be especially tall or especially large to excel. Boys, girls, tall, short, big, small — hockey players come in all shapes, sizes, colors and creeds.
Hockey helps develop a positive attitude, self-image and self-esteem. There's nothing like ice to teach kids about standing on their own two feet.
Decision-making, strategy, concentration — hockey teaches kids a lot more than how to skate.
It takes cooperation, teamwork and respect to succeed on and off the ice. Hockey teaches those skills, while also creating new friendships.
Everyone stumbles on occasion, but hockey players always get back on their feet.
